Aquaence was born out of years of ideas finally coming to fruition. Aquaence (pronounced "ah-quay-ense") is a made-up name which means "Having the Essence of Water". The composer, Victoria Chapman, has a love for water and all things ethereal and flowing. It is expressed in her music and also her visual art. Perhaps it's just the nature of a Piscean.
Aquaence combines sounds from keys and synths with electronic and drum machine influences, plus more organic sounds, including hammered dulcimer, native american flutes and recorder, vocals and occasional hand drums and other instruments. Songs vary from soft and moody to upbeat and rhythmic.
